Ego Healing: A Journey Inward

The ego has kept a bit of a numbness over me lately. The clarity is not present. Is it something I am lacking because I haven't been putting enough energy in? There is something my heart, my soul, my truest self is missing, needing me to follow. I know the only way to get that clarity is to do the work: focus on the now and staying present to do it this moment.

I have found the path through the LAF Method:

  • Listen to the heart until whatever is called to follow.

  • Allow my heart to settle and my body to calm.

  • Follow the first instinct to move—and move instantly.

The Roadmap: Five Points of E

To grow, I cannot allow any part of me to be left without work. I must give intentional attention to every aspect of my being—the Five Points of Health: Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, Internal, and Financial. Maintaining is not achieving; growth does not take place in thoughts alone. Action must take hold. Planning is great, but without action, these points remain a dream or fuel for the ego. Following and taking action brings those dreams to the now, built on the back of failure. Why are the known failures acceptable or tolerable? Is it the curiosity of this that creates the shift?

The Resistance: The Ego’s Internal Movie

The "doing" creates the resistance. The ego plays an internal movie, showing us that our fears are correct and that we belong exactly where we are. It creates stories around past failures to keep us in the cycle of the known, rather than risking the pain of the new. But if you are going to have pain and failure no matter which path, shouldn't we follow the path with light? Reach for it and find the way.

The Poet in the Shadows

My internal work led me to The Poet—the version of me formed through absolute pain and protected by the shadows. He buried himself behind drugs, alcohol, and anger so he wouldn't be seen or hurt. I now know he is why we are all here. He is the healer and the empath who guides us, but he needs the rest of the parts—the coach, the process creator, and the curious child—to believe that he is no longer alone. He is done with the shadows.

The Breakthrough: Who is Saving Whom?

I used to think I had to save all these parts of me. But as they heal, a new question appeared: Am I saving them, or are they saving me? I felt the leader, the one sitting at the head of the table, being led into belief. I am learning to lead through following. By giving up control to my truest self, God, and Mother Earth, I find a love that has no human value.

"You will no longer live life on the outside; you live from within. Love is your only guide. It is your light, your path."

The Daily Practice of Surrender

Every morning, I intentionally surrender. I invite all the parts of me in—even the ego—to be seen and heard in a clean, safe space. When the ego tells its story of fear, I welcome it with love and breathe it away. Not in anger or judgment or shame; in love. Knowing that it is a part of me that needs compassion, needs to know it did nothing wrong, needs to feel it is safe to express the pain or fear it is feeling, that it will be heard, it will be seen, it is not alone.

Learning to love yourself is powerful. It is freeing. It is pure. From this space of trust, healing is allowed. Follow love, and you follow the path of fulfillment, of becoming, and of true freedom.
