They say the hardest part of any journey is the first step, but I think the hardest part is actually deciding to stop running long enough to take it.
If you’ve found your way here from the podcast or caught a glimpse of a reflection on your feed, you know I don’t deal in fluff or toxic positivity. I deal in the dirt. I deal in the mundane hours and the silent work that happens when nobody is watching.
Who I Am (And Who I’m Not)
I’m a storyteller by trade and a student of "Conscious Wisdom" by necessity. I’m a Gen X voice with a universal message: that accountability is the only real path to peace. I am not here to be your therapist, and I’m certainly not here to sell you a shortcut. I am here to look the ego in the eye right alongside you.
What We’re Doing Here
This blog isn't just another platform; it's the anchor. While the podcast is where we dive deep into the psychology of our struggles, this space will be the "scripted map" for the journey.
The Goal: To move from the "illusion of progress" to grounded reality.
The Method: Raw, honest, and poetic reflections that challenge the way you view your own capacity.
The Promise: I will never offer advice I haven't had to choke down myself first.
The Challenge of Now
Success and happiness aren't things we hunt down. They are the harvest. They are what grows when you finally prepare the soil of your soul to receive them. My hope is that through these writings, we can stop chasing finish lines that don't exist and start trusting that the challenge of right now is enough.
I’m grateful you’re here. Let’s see what grows.
I’m Cory J Riggs. I love you all. Be blessed. They say the hardest part of any journey is the first step, but I think it’s actually deciding to stop running long enough to take it.
If you’ve found your way here from the podcast or caught a glimpse of a reflection on your feed, you know I don’t deal in fluff or toxic positivity. My name is Cory J Riggs, and for a long time, I lived in the "illusion of progress." I was going too fast, trying to do too much, and breaking the most important promises—the ones I made to myself.
I am a storyteller by trade, a Gen X-er by birth, and a student of the quiet work by necessity. This space, and my podcast, This Tree and Me, are the vessels for that work.
I’m not here to give you advice from a mountain top. I’m here in the dirt with you. I’m a Wellness and Spiritual Coach, but more importantly, I am a man who realized that spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness are not "options"—they are non-negotiables. They are the top of the list. They don't get taken out.
Through the "Daily Reflections" you’ll find here, I’m documenting the shift:
Moving from the howling ego to the honest truth.
Moving from "looking the part" to actually living it.
Moving from "the cycle" to the scripted map of growth.
This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being accountable. It’s about the tiny wins—the bed made, the morning prayer, the promise kept—that build a life worth living.
I study the religions, the belief systems, and the psychology of the deep truths, but I ground it all in the raw reality of a life lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I believe God is the pure love we all come from and return to—an energy that radiates through every one of us if we are brave enough to let the light shine.
Thank you for being here. This journey begins and ends with self-acceptance. Let the river shape the path.
— Cory
I love you all. Be blessed.
